Getting there

Wilpattu National Park is located in the North Western part of Sri Lanka, and is a 3 and a half hour drive from Colombo and about 3 hours from the international airport. Visitors can travel in comfort as the road right up to the park entrance is paved with an A grade surface. The closest railway stations are in Puttalam and Anuradhapura which are about 45 minutes away from the park. Private domestic air transport options are available by sea plane or helicopter and you should check with your tour operator for details of such options. We can make arrangements to meet and pick you up from any location with prior notice.

The most recommended option is to drive to Wilpattu. We will meet you at the park entrance and transport you to camp in our own vehicle. Accommodation and parking for your driver will be arranged at a motel in the village nearby. The cost of the driver’s accommodation will need to be paid by the guests.
